Mac Os Server 5.5 Download


I have purchased macOS server 5.5 previously from the Mac Apps Store, but I cannot seem to download this version fo the product. When I try to install from my "purchased" items, version 5.6 is downloaded.

Unless you saved version 5.5, you won't be able to download it again. Check your back ups and look in /Applications for Server.app prior to when you upgraded to 5.6. Hopefully, you'll find 5.5 again from your back ups.


If you log into the App Store with an ID that already owns macOS Server from a machine running 10.13.3 and try to download Server from the Purchased tab, it should tell you that the lastest version isn't supported on your operating system and offer you the 5.5 download.


MySQL Cluster Community Edition is available as a separate download. The reason for this change is so that MySQL Cluster can provide more frequent updates and support using the latest sources of MySQL Cluster Carrier Grade Edition.

Mac OS X Server (later called OS X Server and macOS Server), is a discontinued series of Unix-like server operating systems developed by Apple Inc. based on macOS. It provided server functionality and system administration tools, and provided tools to manage both macOS-based computers and iOS-based devices.


macOS Server at one point provided network services such as a mail transfer agent, AFP and SMB servers, an LDAP server, and a domain name server, as well as server applications including a Web server, database, and calendar server. The latest version of macOS server only includes functionality related to user and group management, Xsan, and mobile device management through profiles.


Mac OS X Server was provided as the operating system for Xserve computers, rack mounted server computers designed by Apple. Also, it was optionally pre-installed on the Mac Mini and Mac Pro and was sold separately for use on any Macintosh computer meeting its minimum requirements.


Mac OS X Server 10.2 (released August 23, 2002) includes updated Open Directory user and file management, which with this release is based on LDAP, beginning the deprecation of the NeXT-originated NetInfo architecture. The new Workgroup Manager interface improved configuration significantly. The release also saw major updates to NetBoot and NetInstall. Like Lion, Mountain Lion had no separate server edition. An OS X Server package was available for Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store for US$19.99, which included a server management application called Server, as well as other additional administrative tools to manage client profiles and Xsan.[17][18] Mountain Lion Server, like Lion Server, was provided with unlimited client licenses, and once purchased could be run on an unlimited number of systems.


Beginning with the release of OS X Mountain Lion (version 10.8), there is only one Administrative tool, an app called "Server", which can be bought and downloaded from the Mac App Store, and is updated independently of OS X. This Server tool is used to configure, maintain and monitor one or more macOS Server installations.


The Calendar and Contacts Server project is an Apple-developed standards-compliant server implementing the CalDAV and CardDAV protocols, published under the Apache 2.0 license. It provides a shared location on the network allowing multiple users to store and edit calendaring and contact information. The server was publicly released during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on August 7, 2006 as iCal Server and Address Book Server.


The server, named ".mw-parser-output .monospacedfont-family:monospace,monospacecaldavd", is a daemon background service. It has been ported to non-Apple computer platforms. It is currently possible to install it on FreeBSD and several flavours of Linux. The server is written in the Python programming language with the Twisted framework, and uses an SQL database for storage of calendar data.


Version 2 of the software is based on jabberd2 2.0s9 and supports server federation,[22] which allows chat clients to talk directly with other systems that support XMPP. It also supports server-based chat archiving.[23]


On April 21, 2022, Apple announced that they have discontinued macOS Server and that the most popular features (Caching Server, File Sharing Server, and Time Machine Server) are already bundled with every copy of macOS High Sierra and later, so customers will still have access to them. Existing macOS Server customers can still download and use the app with macOS Monterey.[2]


If you set the Horizon Client security preference (VMware Horizon Client > Preferences > Security) to Do not verify server identity certificates and connect to a server that has a valid root-signed certificate, Horizon Client might stop responding.


With the IDPrime .Net card, when the SafeNet Authentication Client middleware is installed, you can view or change the smart card's cache type. If the cache type for the IDPrime .Net card is "Normal Cache," the client might not verify the smart card's PIN during server authentication when the smart card PIN is cached.


Workaround: Change the Cache Type to "Always Prompt" for the IDPrime .Net card. This setting enables the client to verify the smart card's PIN each time the user connects to the server.


If you select the Remember this password check box when you log in to a server, you cannot log in to the same server as a different user if the credential caching timeout period (clientCredentialCacheTimeout) on the server has not yet expired. Horizon Client will automatically use the saved credentials to log you in to the server.


Workaround: Remove the server from the Selector window (right-click the server icon and select the Delete menu item), click the Add Server button to add the server again, and then log in to the server as the different user.


If you connect to a remote application for which the pre-launch feature is enabled on the Horizon server, and the Horizon Client reconnect behavior is set to "Ask to reconnect to open applications" or "Do not ask to reconnect and do not automatically reconnect," resumed application sessions are disconnected after the pre-launch timeout expires (default 10 minutes).
